The National Monuments Service's description
This is one of four 'dallans' (CO016-242----, CO016-244----, CO016-245----) recorded by Bowman (2000, 181) in 'Mr. O'Reilly's' in Mahanagh townland. Bowman (ibid.) describes this stone as '(b) 30 yards [27.43m] west of (a) [CO016-242----]. 9" [0.23m] over ground, 6' 7" [2m] girth'. The location of this stone was pointed out by the present landowner. The stone was removed from this location in recent times. It may be one of two stones now lying in the SE corner of the field.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
