The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on gentle ENE-facing slope, above sharp fall of ground on NE side. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 28m) on 1842 and 1905 OS 6-inch maps; as circular area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed by hachured fosse on 1937 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace. According to local information, 'fort' levelled c. 1972 except for small portion next to field fence which was subsequently levelled c. 1981. Bowman (1934, 634) recorded fort called Lisin Clochach in B. Purdon's land; 'double-ramparted. About one-sixth of the outer rampart, and about one-third of the inner rampart now stands...The diameter was about 33 yards'.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
