The National Monuments Service's description
In level pasture. Circular enclosure depicted by broken line on 1842 OS 6-inch map; solid line depicts site on 1905 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps. Circular area (21.4m E-W; 20.4m N-S) defined by slight scarp (H 0.35m) SE->NE with faint trace of external fosse; slight internal lip (H 0.1m) to NE and SW->NNW suggests evidence for bank. Line of trees, incorporated into field fence system, marks line of enclosure NE->SE; deep external depression, forms part of stream depicted on 1905 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
