The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Depicted as hachured rectangular enclosure (c. 40m N-S; c. 35m E-W) on 1842 OS 6-inch map, with channel on N side linking it to series of streams a short distance away to N and W, and larger E-W stream to S; as hachured square raised area on 1905 OS 6-inch map; indicated as square enclosure surrounded by stream to N, E and S fed from stream to S on 1936 OS 6-inch map. According to local information, levelled c. 1950s; during levelling two fragments of quern stones found and small piece of glossy slag. Square area survives (30m E-W; 29.8m N-S) defined by low rise to E and S; scarp to N and W; shallow external fosse evident all round. Abutting fosse to N is raised oblong area (Wth 13m N-S) surrounded by shallow fosse; further N is second similar oblong rise surrounded by shallow fosse, but not clearly defined on E side. Latter features probably associated with water channels which were depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map.
