The National Monuments Service's description

This stone is built into the gable of a two-storey store outside the main entrance gate to the yard. It is the keystone from a mantle piece and bears the O’Brien coat-of-arms and the date 1578. This undoubtedly came from the castle (see document attached to CL063-010----) (pers. comm. Martin Breen, 21 December 2014).
