The National Monuments Service's description

Westropp (1892-4, 278) describes a graveslab 'under the belfry' of Quin Abbey (CL042-027002-). He cites the inscription, in Latin, in raised capitals, as 'HIC JACET JOHANN:S CAPITNS MACNAMARA 1601 ANNA FILIA MAC BRIEN A[VIA ALIAS ?] MACNMARRA ME FIERI FECIT.’ On inspection in April 2018, there was no graveslab with this inscription in evidence under the belfry or elsewhere. There was a graveslab lying recumbent under the belfry (CL042-027016-) with an inscription in English.
