The National Monuments Service's description

On top of a distinctive knoll, in pasture, which is overlooking lower ground SE-NNE and is overlooked by higher ground NNE-SE. Extensive views across vista of Kilgory Lough to NW. Depicted on all historic OS mapping. A sub-oval area (25m N-S; 18m E-W) defined by an earthen and stone bank (int. H 0.55m; ext. H 2.05m; Wth at top 1.3m; Wth at base 7.5m) E-W and NE-ENE. The monument is defined by an inner scarp (Wth 1.4m; int. H 0.6m) W-NW and at NNE-NE. The monument is truncated by an earthen and tree-lined field boundary (long axis E-W) across the enclosing elements at N and by a trackway (Wth 3m; long-axis E-W) across the N sector of the interior. A gap (Wth c. 6m) is located in the enclosing elements at E. The interior is bowl-shaped and slopes down gently to N. The perimeter is obscured by briars and thorn trees with additional similar vegetation around the bank and enclosing elements. The monument utilises a natural knoll and was sited here for its elevated location.
