The National Monuments Service's description

This feature, named as ‘Dermot and Grania’s Bed’ on the 1840 OS 6-inch map stood in gently undulating pasture, toward the top of a gentle SE-facing slope with limited views of the surrounding landscape. Westropp (1902-04, 112 (b)) drew a plan of the monument and described it as ‘a defaced little cist, 12 feet long and 4 feet 9 inches wide. The sides and ends remain; and a cover-slab, now partly buried, lies on the north-west slab. The south side lies ENE and WSW’. The monument is named as ‘Site of’ on the OS 25-inch map suggesting that it was no longer extant by the late 19th century. De Valera and Ó Nualláin (1961, 91, no. 2) describe it as the site of a probable wedge tomb. On inspection in 2017 there were no visible remains of any such features at ground level. The site of another wedge tomb (CL035-007----) is c. 55m to the S.
