The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on a NE-facing slope with wide views to N. Surrounded by a barbed-wire fence. A limestone memorial stone (Wth 0.75m; H 1.5m; T 0.13-0.15m) set upright and oriented WNW-ESE with a crude inscription on the N side. The S side is rough and unfinished. The inscription reads ‘This stone was erected by Michael Reidy in memory of this moth.. Bridget Cah(?)ikawll(?) died in the year 1795 aged 61.’ The name after Bridget may be Caherlough, the townland to the E of this location. There is a large ‘IHS’ above the inscription in very low relief. The top edge of the stone curves up and down as in 18th-century headstones. According to local information the stone lay flat until the field was reclaimed in the 1970s and did not mark a burial.
