The National Monuments Service's description
On a low rise in hazel and ash woodland at the SW end of a turlough, with land rising to the NW and SE. Indicated as a small rectangular enclosure and named ‘Lisheenalaughil Childrens Burial Ground’ on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map. Shown as a partly raised oval shaped area on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and named ‘Lisheenalaughil Childrens Burial Ground (Disused)’ and similarly depicted and named on the Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Burial ground’ in the RMP (1996). This children’s burial ground comprises a tree-covered, oval-shaped cairn (10.7m NE-SW; 5.2m NW-SE; min. H 0.2m at SW, rising to 1.5m at NE). Some eight probable grave-marker stones are visible and appear to be lying on, rather than bring set into, the cairn.
