The National Monuments Service's description
On the SSE-facing slope of a ridge in a hilly pasture with marshy lower slopes. Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 eds. of the OS 6-inch maps. Listed as ‘enclosure’ in the RMP (1996).
A subcircular rath (int. dim. 24m E-W) defined by a well-preserved steep-sided round-topped earthen bank (Wth 6m at base; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.6m) from WSW to N to E. The townland boundary overlies it from SE to SW. A gap (Wth 2m) at NNW may be the original entrance. The interior is level. A faintly visible shallow depression (Wth 3m) around the bank may be the remains of a fosse. The bank is lower in height in the E sector where material from it may have been used in the construction of the adjacent Land Commission field boundary, which is aligned NNW-SSE.
