In marshy pastureland. This crannog, which was discovered in 1964 in an area that appears to a dried-up lake, was described by Ó Riordáin (1966-7, 71; Pl. II 1) as a raised grassed-over circular mound (diam. 18.5m; H c. 1.5m) with some stones visible at a few points along its perimeter. Along the S extent, three spaced wooden posts (diam. 0.1m; H 0.2-0.3m) were probably the remains of a row of piles. A fragment of the upper portion of a rotary quern was found on it a few years earlier and a wooden vessel containing bog butter was also previously found on or near it. Unfortunately, the latter was allowed to dry out and subsequently disintegrated (ibid.). The crannog was not located on a site inspection in May 1999. However, its outline is clearly visible on current aerial imagery (OSi digitalglobe 2011-2013). Ó Riordáin (1966-7, 71) also noted another possible crannog (CL016-084002-) c. 70m to its E.
