The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture on the highest point of a ridge aligned E-W with panoramic views in all directions. Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 OS 6-inch maps. An oval cashel (35.5m E-W; 29.3m N-S) defined by a wide bank of stone collapse (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 1.5-4m; Wth 1.5-4m) with suggestions of an external fosse (Wth 2-3m) at E. No internal wall-face is evident, but from SE to W there is part of an outer wall-face comprising a single course of large boulders (H 0.55m). Two short stretches of terracing are present at S and SSW at a distance of 1.2m and 3m from the base of the cashel wall and may related to terracing around the monument. Two shallow depressions (Wth 2-3m) either side of the entrance suggest a fosse. There is an entrance causeway to the E (Wth 1.9-2.9m) flanked internally by a line of stones. The interior of the monument slopes gently down to the E. The interior is scattered with stone and has a telegraph pole.
