The National Monuments Service's description
In a slight natural hollow on a high (above the 600’ contour) exposed ridge within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL010-064001-). Listed as ‘Potential site - aerial photo’ in the RMP (1996). Although not recorded on the first (1842) or Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map, both editions show the townland boundary wall (with Tullycommon to the W) bending sharply to avoid the monument, running to its S and W. This subcircular cashel (int. diam. 16m N-S; 14m E-W) is defined by a double-faced wall (Wth 1.2m at NNE; H 0.55m) which is best preserved at NNE, with outer wall facing stones leaning heavily inwards S-SSE. Elsewhere, the enclosing element survives as a stony bank (Wth 2-3m; int. H 0.4-0.8m; ext. H 0.15-0.6m) that is most spread out (Wth 5m) at W. A later field wall overlies the bank NNW-N and grass-covered walls can be seen in satellite imagery (Aerial Premium 2013-2018) extending tangentially from the cashel at NNE and S. A possible enclosure (CL010-064103-) lies c. 50m to SSE.
