The National Monuments Service's description
On level ground in semi-karst rough pastureland commanding views from N to SE within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL010-064001-). Indicated on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This square cashel (37m N-S; 37m E-W) is defined by a double-faced stone wall (Wth 1.1-2m; int. H 0.4-0.9m; ext. H 0.6-1.25m), with large stone slabs (H 0.5-0.7m) set on edge found intermittently along the W outer wall-face. One such slab in the centre of this side appears to block a gap in this wall – albeit a gap which appears too narrow to be an entrance. A later drystone wall overlies the cashel perimeter. There is a modern gap at the SE. The uneven E-sloping interior is somewhat rocky, with a natural bedrock step in the NW quadrant. There are two later animal pens in the interior, one in the NE corner and the other against the W centre of the N wall. An enclosure (CL010-242----) lies c. 87m to the W.
