The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture on a slight rise in a high (on the 600’ contour) terrace on the N slope of a ridge, within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL010-064001-) and commanding wide views to the N. This subcircular cashel (int. diam. 20m E-W; 18m N-S) is defined by a stony bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0-0.5m; ext. H 0.2-0.9m) with outer wall facing stones (H 0.2-0.6m) visible E-S. Part of the later townland boundary wall with Teeskagh (to the W) overlies the cashel wall S-W-NNW. The interior is generally level, with a very faint oval-shaped area of purple loosestrife in the W sector. Also growing there are silverweed, black knapweed, red clover, nettle, eyebright and dandelion.
