The National Monuments Service's description

On a low rise in rough, overgrown pasture surrounded by improved pasture and within a field system (CL010-059001-). Not indicated on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map which shows four roofed buildings on the site. Partly indicated on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) which also shows the four buildings, but unroofed; one in the NE sector of the interior, two in the E sector and a fourth in the SW sector. The later, Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map records the monument similarly.
This oval-shaped cashel (int. diams. 38m NE-SW; 31m NW-SE; ext. diams. 41m NE-SW; 34m NW-SE) is defined by a collapsed and partly moss-covered stone wall (Wth 1.7m; int. H 0.9m; ext. H 1m). There is a poorly defined gap at S. A later wall is built on the outer wall-face W-NNE and at ENE. The interior is slightly uneven and contains numerous features and foundations - the remains of the buildings depicted on the OS mapping. A small circular kiln-like feature stands immediately outside at NW. A concentric enclosure (CL010-059002-) lies c. 105m to the SW.
