The National Monuments Service's description
On high ground in pasture, with rising ground from W to NE and commanding views from ESE to S. Within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL005-160001-). Listed as ‘enclosure’ in the RMP (1996).
A roughly rectangular cashel (int. dims. 35m N-S; 31m E-W) defined by a collapsed wall spread (Wth 1.2-3.8m) with visible inner wall-facing (H 0.15m) at the NW and outer wall-facing visible at N (H 0.35-0.6m), E (H 0.25m) and S (H 0.5m). The interior of the cashel is uneven and there is a souterrain (CL010-009002-) near the centre. Later animal pens are placed in the SW corner (est. int. dims. c. 15m E-W; c. 15m N-S), along the N (est. int. dims. c. 4.5m E-W; c. 4m N-S) and outside of the cashel to the SW (est. int. dims. c. 8m E-W; c. 8m N-S) and NW (est. int. dims. c. 2.9m E-W; c. 2.5m N-S).
