The National Monuments Service's description
On a plateau in rough pasture, with land sloping immediately to the S, and within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-084001-). This well-preserved grass-covered oval cairn (8.2m NW-SE; 7.3m NE-SW; H 1-1.2m) has quite a straight edge (L 3m) at SE, where it may have been cut back. Two stones (L. 0.4m and 0.8m), aligned NE-SE, protruding from the top of it may be related to what appeared to de Valera and Ó Nualláin (1961, 29) to be the remains of a short cist (Wth 1m; L 0.5m) 'set high up in the mound'. A later D-shaped enclosure (int. dims. c. 12m ENE-WSW; c. 11m NNW-SSE) lies c. 5.5m to the N.
The cairn is part of a complex of prehistoric monuments in this area (Grant 1995, 31-3) that also includes two other cairns (CL009-084010- and CL009-084013-) lying c. 47m to the NNW and c. 64m to the NE respectively.
