The National Monuments Service's description
On a gentle S-facing slope with a doline c. 35m to the SW, in rough pasture and karst limestone within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). Indicated on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure (possible)’ in the RMP (1996). This subcircular cashel (25.3m N-S; 24.6m E-W) is defined by a double-faced stone wall or earthen bank with a stone facing (Wth 0.8-1.3m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.7-2m). The wall has an almost right-angled corner at NW. The wall-faces are well made, with that on the exterior incorporating large horizontally laid stones. Westropp (1901, 289) may have referred to this cashel as a ‘well-built caher with gapped walls’. Within the raised interior there are two cells—one (4.5m E-W; 3m N-S) at N and the other (6.5m E-W; 6m N-S) at S—defined by loose stones.
Another cashel (CL009-194----) lies c. 35m to the SE and an enclosure (CL009-059088-) lies c. 102m to the WNW.
