The National Monuments Service's description
On level ground in pasture, near the W end of the Kilcorney Valley, with higher ground all around but views from N to E. Depicted as a small hachured mound on the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map with roughly NE-SW running field boundary clipping it at NW. A low grass-covered roughly circular flat-topped earthen mound (dims. of base 15.4m NW–SE; 14.3m NE–SW; H c. 1.6–2.6m) with a slightly raised edge around the top of it (diam. of top 6.2m); the latter is most prominent at NE and SW and there are gaps (Wth 1.55m) at N and SSE. It was possibly damaged at NW by the earthen bank shown on the 1920 mapping as it is lowest here (H 0.8m). While it appears to be mostly composed of clay, some stone is also visible in its make-up. (Robinson 1977)
