The National Monuments Service's description
On top of a prominent hill, with wide views especially from S-W, in an area of rough pasture and dense gorse and bramble growth. Hachured on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as 'Enclosure' in the RMP (1996). This almost circular rath (45m N-S; 44.5m E-W) is defined by two earthen banks and an intervening fosse. The flat-topped and steep-sided inner bank (av. Wth 6-7m at base; Wth 3m at top; max. int. H 0.25m; ext. H 2m) is evident all round, except at the E where a scarp is visible. The fosse (Wth 5.4-6.1m at base) is flat bottomed. The outer bank (Wth 2.3-4.2m; int. H 0.45-1.9m; ext. H 0.3-1.7m) is round topped and steep sided, with a later field wall built on it from NNW-NNE. The interior is slightly higher in the centre than the perimeter and slopes gently to the SE. It appears to be featureless but is densely overgrown with gorse and brambles. An agricultural shed has been built immediately to the NNE.
