The National Monuments Service's description
On a low rise in undulating pastureland and limestone pavement, within a large multiperiod field system (CL008-109001-). Listed as 'Potential site - aerial photo' in the RMP (1996). This subcircular cashel (int. diam. 24m) is defined by a double-faced wall (Wth 1.95m), the outer face of which survives intermittently to two/three courses. The inner wall-face is traceable from NNW-E and from S-SW. Where the wall-faces have collapsed the wall is 2-3m wide. From S-SW, at a distance of 2m from the cashel wall, a line of revetment on a scarp (H 1m) runs parallel to it. This may be part of an external skin or terrace that was built in order to support the cashel wall on the natural slope. Within the interior, there is a souterrain (CL008-013004-) in the NW sector and a children's burial ground (CL008-013005-) in the SE sector. Two other cashels (CL008-013002- and CL008-013006-) lie c. 30m to the S and c. 54m to the SW respectively, and there is an enclosure (CL008-013003-) c. 94m to the E.
