This souterrain and cave were discovered in 2003. The entrance to the cave is via a small opening in the grass-covered limestone which gives access to a souterrain with typical drystone walling roofed with large slabs. About 5m inside the entrance, a low wall has been built across the passage about the point where the souterrain ends and the cave commences. This souterrain had been constructed against the entrance of a larger natural cave. The cave passage descends downwards and is decorated with moon milk. It reaches a total length of 12m before becoming choked by boulders (Mullan and Boycott 2004, 145). When first discovered a number of human bones were discovered at the back of the cave but were not visible on a subsequent inspection in 2005 (pers. comm. Marion Dowd). Although known by the name of Poll Rannagh East Cave (Sheen 2003; Mullan and Boycott 2004), it is located in the townland of Termon.
