The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture with some hazel overgrowth near the W foot of Cappanawalla Hill, with commanding views from S-NW over the Rathborney valley floor. Hachured and named ‘Lismacteige’ on the 1842 and 1916 eds of the OS 6-inch map, it is one of two forts described by Westropp (1901, 277) as ‘two greatly defaced forts’. Listed as a cashel in the RMP (1996). A moderately well-preserved circular ringfort (44.5m E-W by 39m N-S) defined by a wide bank of earth and stone (av. Wth at base 6m; int. H 0.8-1.1m; ext. H 0.8-1.5m) that narrows (Wth 3.8m) from W to WNW where it is also particularly stony. Some external facing (H 0.5m) is visible at SE and to the S, there is a flat berm (Wth 2m) partway up the external bank. A bank of earth and stone, potentially of some antiquity, extends from the SE side. Another, covered in hazel extends from the NE. A pair of conjoined ringforts (CL005-200---- and CL005-200002-) are located c. 100m to the E.
