The National Monuments Service's description
On the SE-facing slopes of a rocky ridge with commanding views to the NE, E and S and within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL004-016001-). Indicated on the 1915 OS 6-inch map.
An oval cashel (c. 37.5m N-S; c. 32m E-W) defined by a collapsed stone wall (Wth 1.2m) which is best preserved at W where the original inner facing is still evident. The outer wall-facing survives and is best preserved at N (H 1.2m at N; H 0.6m from NE to ENE; H 0.3m at W). Possible hut sites are incorporated into the enclosing wall at SW (est. dims 6.11m N-S; 5.32m E-W) and NNW (est. dims. 7.7m N-S; 5.6m E-W). A later field wall is built on top of the outer wall-face and field walls abut the perimeter of the cashel at NW, SW and ENE. A souterrain (CL004-016040-) lies in the N interior.
