The National Monuments Service's description
On a flat fertile terrace on the W slopes of a ridge with extensive views from S–NW. Hachured on the 1842 and 1915 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A fairly well-preserved roughly circular rath (int. dims. 33m NNE–SSW; 34m WNW–ESE) defined by a stone and earthen bank (Wth 5m; H 1–1.3m) and fosse (Wth at base 2.5m; D 0.4m) best preserved from WNW to N. Possible causeways cross the fosse to the SW and NW, and it is not visible from N to SE. The interior is cut by a wall extending WNW-ESE of roughly dressed stone and mortar. To its S, the bank of the rath has been reduced to a scarp (max. H 0.7m). An ancient-looking overgrown bank meets the edge of the site at ESE. This rath is located at the W extent of an extensive multiperiod field system (CL004-016001-), covering an area of c. 8km square.
