The National Monuments Service's description
Under a field wall in improved pasture, SW of centre in a large denuded cashel named ‘Caherloughlin’ (CL002-018----), c. 500m S of the foreshore. A subrectangular area (int. dims. 6.9m N-S; 4.4m E-W; overall ext. dims. 13.9m N–S; 11.8m E–W) defined at W by a low grassed- over stony bank (H 0.3–0.5m; Wth 1.9–3.5m) and at E by a long, low scarp (Wth 4m; H 0.9m). A field wall running SSE–NNW over the remains marks the change from stony bank to scarp.
