Historique
Erigée en 1748, l'église est la quatrième plus ancienne de l'île. La première chapelle fut bâtie par le forban Dominique Ferrère, épargné par un naufrage en 1667. En 1735, une première église en bois est bâtie puis refaite en pierre. En 1749, la décision est prise de construire une église. La maçonnerie est achevée en 1754.

History
Built in 1748, the church is the fourth oldest on the island. The first chapel was built by the buccaneer Dominique Ferrère, spared by a shipwreck in 1667. In 1735, a first wooden church was built then rebuilt in stone. In 1749, the decision was made to build a church. The masonry was completed in 1754.
