Historique
Un plan de 1822 permet de situer les trois premières constructions du génie militaire sur le site actuel, composées d'un bâtiment en maçonnerie et d'entrepôts en charpente. Après leur destruction à la fin des années 1830 pour la construction de l'hôtel des postes, les services du génie s'installent dans le parc d'artillerie. Le projet pour les nouveaux locaux date des années 1840. La parcelle est divisée en deux parties. A l'est, plusieurs constructions autour d'une cour intérieure desservie par une porte cochère, forment les bureaux et l'arsenal du génie. A l'ouest, est prévue la construction du logement de fonction du directeur, ainsi que les dépendances. Le style néo-classique des bâtiments s'inspire de l'hôtel des postes. History
A plan of 1822 allows the location of the first three constructions of the military engineering corps on the current site, composed of a masonry building and timber-frame warehouses.
