Historique
Ancienne gendarmerie bâtie de 1841 à 1842, d'après des plans attribués à l'ingénieur du génie militaire J. Roux. L'entrée principale présente un portail flanqué de piliers en basalte taillé, terminés par des chapiteaux surmontés d'un cône. De part et d'autre de cette entrée, deux pavillons abritent, au 19e siècle, des écuries, un magasin à graines et un autre à fourrage. Le pavillon Est a été détruit durant les années 1990. Au centre, un bâtiment rectangulaire comporte un rez-de-chaussée et un étage, couvert à l'origine d'un mastic bitumeux masqué par un attique, puis d'une toiture à quatre pans reposant sur les bords de l'attique. A l'intérieur, les pièces sont desservies par un couloir central. A l'arrière du bâtiment central, aux angles est et ouest, des latrines et des cuisines existent au 19e siècle.

History
Former police barracks built from 1841 to 1842, according to plans attributed to the military engineer J. Roux. The main entrance presents a gateway flanked by cut basalt pillars, terminated by capitals surmounted by a cone. On either side of this entrance, two pavilions housed, in the 19th century, stables, a seed store and another for fodder. The East pavilion was destroyed during the 1990s. At the centre, a rectangular building comprises a ground floor and a storey, originally covered with bituminous mastic masked by an attic, then a four-pitched roof resting on the edges of the attic. Inside, the rooms are served by a central corridor. At the rear of the central building, at the east and west corners, latrines and kitchens existed in the 19th century.
