L'usine sucrière de Langevin est construite vers 1853 par Gabriel Le Coat de Kervéguen, sur la rive droite de la rivière Langevin, dans les hauts de Saint-Joseph. En activité jusqu'au début des années 1900, elle a également été un lieu de production de fibre textile à partir de l'agave "choca". Ayant servi de serre d'anthuriums pour Charles Payet, puis de pépinière pour la Mairie de Saint-Joseph.

History
The Langevin sugar factory is built around 1853 by Gabriel Le Coat de Kervéguen, on the right bank of the Langevin river, in the highlands of Saint-Joseph.
