Dernier vestige de l'ancien château de la seigneurie de Périgny-le-Grand, le colombier est attesté depuis 1679. Le château fut démoli dans les années 1760, mais le pigeonnier fut conservé. Il s'agit d'un colombier à pied, de type circulaire, divisé en deux : une salle basse plafonnée (qui devait servir de cave ou de fruitier) et une salle haute (destinée à l'élevage des pigeons). Cette salle haute a conservé son pivot central avec ses potences et son échelle tournante permettant de visiter les trous de boulins.

History
Last vestige of the old castle of the seigneury of Périgny-le-Grand, the dovecote is attested since 1679. The castle was demolished in the 1760s, but the dovecote was preserved. It is a dovecote on foot, of circular type, divided in two: a lower room with ceiling (which must have served as a cellar or fruit store) and an upper room (intended for the breeding of pigeons). This upper room has retained its central pivot with its potences and its turning ladder allowing one to visit the pigeon holes.
