The Clacquesin family has worked with spirits since 1775, representing one of the oldest industrial enterprises in the commune. In 1880, the pharmacist herbalist Paul Clacquesin developed a "hygienic tar" which was awarded a prize at the Universal Exposition of 1900. The Paris factory was transferred in 1903 to Malakoff where an industrial building was erected in bichrome brick. In 1926, the architect Guillemin proposed extensions to the factory comprising large halls for new vats and the creation of spaces for bottling and storage. The transformation project was completed in 1931 by the erection of a second chimney in the courtyard of the industrial building. The large halls have a metal frame structure, lit by roof lanterns.
