Historique
Fort construit de 1882 à 1884, renforcé en 1894-1896 par bétonnages, pose de coffres de contrescarpe et renforcement de la caponnière de gorge. Ultime renforcement de 1910 à 1914 avec installation d'une tourelle à éclipses pour pièces de 155 avec observatoire, d'une tourelle à éclipses pour canons de 75 et, dans chaque flanc, d'une casemate de Bourges, de casemates et de galeries. Des tourelles à éclipses pour mitrailleuses et des guérites-observatoires complètent ces dispositions. L'ouvrage a été utilisé comme remise à matériel jusque vers 1960. La tourelle Galopin pour tube raccourci de 155 mm est la dernière subsistante dans cet état.

History
Fort built from 1882 to 1884, reinforced in 1894-1896 by concreting, installation of counterscarp coffres and reinforcement of the gorge caponnière. Final reinforcement from 1910 to 1914 with installation of an eclipse turret for 155 mm pieces with observatory, an eclipse turret for 75 mm guns and, in each flank, a Bourges casemate, casemates and galleries. Eclipse turrets for machine guns and observation sentry boxes complete these arrangements. The work was used as a material store until around 1960. The Galopin turret for shortened 155 mm tube is the last surviving in this state.
