Historique

History
Fief of the castellany of Lastours in 1322. In 1397, the domain was fortified following destruction caused by the English. The circular tower of two storeys which survives at the entrance, augmented by a square turret for the staircase, doubtless formed part of an enclosure (mentioned in the 18th century). It presents characteristics dating it to the second half of the 15th century. The lower hall vaulted with ribs was doubtless built for use as a chapel. In the 18th century, the dwelling is described as a main dwelling with two pavilions, suggesting a building of the 16th or early 17th century. In the middle of the 18th century, the realisation of a main dwelling of one storey under a mansard roof, with partial reuse of the previous main structure. A central vestibule with a large wooden staircase serves halls and rooms with moulded wainscotting. In the 19th century, the surroundings are laid out as a garden. This site illustrates the transformation of a noble rural estate of the late Middle Ages into a country residence of the late ancien régime.
