History
This is the most important mine crater in Picardy: it is the result of the explosion of mines following the sapping work of the German lines by sappers of the British army on 1 July 1916, as a prelude to the general offensive of the allied armies on the Somme front. This place is the object of a very well-attended annual pilgrimage and receives several thousand visitors per year
