Historique
Le prieuré de Saint-Jouin-sous-Châtillon (11e siècle) appartenait aux Bénédictins et relevait de l'abbaye de Saint-Jouin-de-Marnes. Au 15e siècle, les moines se séparèrent du clergé séculier et construisirent un nouveau prieuré à quelques mètres de l'église. A partir de 1832, le logis devient propriété privée. Il se compose d'un bâtiment central rectangulaire flanqué de deux pavillons carrés. La porte d'entrée est encadrée de deux pilastres doriques supportant un fronton triangulaire. Le logis est précédé d'un porche voûté, à double porte charretière et piétonnière. Ce dernier est flanqué de part et d'autre d'un corps de bâtiment rectangulaire, constituant les dépendances. L'agencement intérieur s'organise symétriquement de part et d'autre d'un escalier droit.

History
The priory of Saint-Jouin-sous-Châtillon (11th century) belonged to the Benedictines and was under the authority of the abbey of Saint-Jouin-de-Marnes. In the 15th century, the monks separated from the secular clergy and built a new priory a few metres from the church. From 1832 onwards, the dwelling became private property. It consists of a central rectangular building flanked by two square pavilions. The entrance door is framed by two Doric pilasters supporting a triangular pediment. The dwelling is preceded by a vaulted porch, with double carriage and pedestrian doors. This is flanked on either side by a rectangular building forming the outbuildings. The interior layout is organised symmetrically on either side of a straight staircase.
