Le bureau de postes de Rambouillet, conçu à partir de 1935 par l'architecte Joseph Bukiet et livré en 1937, illustre parfaitement " l'académisme moderne " de l'entre-deux-guerres. L'édifice, qui s'ordonne selon un axe longitudinal, est intégralement construit en béton armé avec parements de brique et ornements de granit ou de marbre. La façade principale possède : avant-corps central pourvu d'une colonnade, attique en brique, corniche très saillante, décors de grès flammé, mosaïque, émaux et pâte de verre.

History
The post office of Rambouillet, designed from 1935 by architect Joseph Bukiet and delivered in 1937, perfectly illustrates the "modern academicism" of the interwar period. The building, which is organized according to a longitudinal axis, is entirely constructed in reinforced concrete with brick facing and granite or marble ornaments. The main façade has: central projection provided with a colonnade, brick attic, very prominent cornice, decoration of flamed sandstone, mosaic, enamels and glass paste.
