Sise en bordure de la Marne, cette maison de plaisance a été construite entre 1754 et 1757 d'après les initiales des propriétaires portées dans la ferronnerie de son remarquable escalier. Elle fut rachetée peu après la Révolution par le négociant et homme politique Antoine-Jean-François Ménager (1756-1826, né et mort à Germigny-l'Evêque, député suppléant du Tiers-Etat en 1789, maire de la commune dès 1804, conseiller général en 1808, chevalier d'Empire en 1812, député de Seine-et-Marne en 1816, baron en 1819). Celui-ci l'ayant faite recarrosser au goût du jour, elle offre le témoignage peu fréquent d'une application soignée du style Empire sur un bâtiment de petit format. Les dépendances ont été bâties en plusieurs temps, le site lui-même présente un grand intérêt.

History
Situated on the bank of the Marne, this pleasure house was built between 1754 and 1757 according to the initials of the owners shown in the ironwork of its remarkable staircase. It was purchased shortly after the Revolution by the merchant and politician Antoine-Jean-François Ménager (1756-1826, born and died at Germigny-l'Evêque, alternate deputy of the Third Estate in 1789, mayor of the commune from 1804, general councillor in 1808, Knight of the Empire in 1812, deputy for Seine-et-Marne in 1816, baron in 1819). Having had it remodelled to the taste of the day, it offers the infrequent testimony of a careful application of Empire style to a small-scale building.
