Historique
L'église Saint-Pierre d'Yvetot a été anéantie en 1940 par les bombardements. Sa reconstruction a débuté en 1949, sur le principe d'un plan circulaire. Elle est l'oeuvre de plusieurs architectes : Pierre Chirol (jusqu'à son décès en 1953) , Robert Flavigny et Yves Marchand. Les travaux, marqués par des difficultés techniques (problèmes de matériaux, modifications de plans) et administratives (changements de l'architecte responsable) , se terminent en 1956, le campanile n'étant construit que quelques années plus tard. L'église mesure 40 mètres de diamètre sur 20 mètres de hauteur et présente un ensemble de vitraux contemporains du verrier Max Ingrand (consacrés aux saints normands) d'une surface de plus de 1000 m2. Suite à un vieillissement prématuré des matériaux, d'importants travaux de restauration ont eu lieu sur l'église et son campanile de 1991 à 1994.

The church of Saint-Pierre d'Yvetot was destroyed in 1940 by bombing. Its reconstruction began in 1949, based on the principle of a circular plan.
