History
Facing the expansion, from the 1840s onwards, of the village of La Chapelle, the creation of a new place of worship for the Catholic community became necessary. The construction of the church, according to the plans of the architect Auguste-Joseph Magne, took place from 1858 to 1861, although the very rich decoration continued until 1870.
