Le bâtiment, construit en 1928, se présente comme un jeu de masses qui exclut tout décor extérieur : volumes horizontaux organisés autour d'une cour centrale, campanile dressé... L'unique décoration se trouve à l'intérieur : peintures murales exécutées par Hordjik et Doevel dans la salle des fêtes, représentant la "grandeur coloniale de l'Empire".

History
The only construction on French soil by the great Dutch architect Willem Marinus Dudok, influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright and the De Stijl movement.
