Dominée au nord par l'église Saint-Vincent de Paul, commencée en 1824 par Lepère, continuée et terminée en 1844 par Hittorf et précédée par un escalier monumental à trois paliers, la place Franz Liszt épouse la forme d'un dodécagone. Traversée d'ouest en est par la rue Lafayette et percée au sud par la rue d'Hauteville qui ouvre une profonde perspective vers le sud de Paris, elle est bordée d'immeubles dont la plupart ont été construits dans le premier tiers du 19e siècle. Les immeubles sont élevés de trois étages sur rez-de-chaussée et de combles dont certains ont été surélevés et percés de lucarnes. Un balcon avec balustrade en fonte court sur les façades au niveau de l'étage noble et du troisième étage. Les façades sont percées de fenêtres rectangulaires surmontées de frontons triangulaires à l'étage noble. Les angles des façades sont soulignés de bossages.

History
Dominated to the north by the Church of Saint-Vincent de Paul, begun in 1824 by Lepère, continued and completed in 1844 by Hittorf and preceded by a monumental staircase with three landings, the Place Franz Liszt adopts the form of a dodecagon. Traversed from west to east by the Rue Lafayette and pierced to the south by the Rue d'Hauteville which opens a deep perspective towards the south of Paris, it is bordered by buildings most of which were constructed in the first third of the 19th century. The buildings are raised three storeys above ground floor and roof space, some of which have been raised and pierced with dormers. A balcony with cast-iron balustrade runs along the façades at the level of the noble floor and the third storey. The façades are pierced with rectangular windows surmounted by triangular pediments on the noble floor. The angles of the façades are emphasised with rustication.
