En 1732, les marguilliers de la paroisse Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais décident la reconstruction des maisons menaçant ruine. Les n°2 à 12 sont confiés à l'architecte Jacques Vinage. Le n°14 et l'immeuble de rapport en retour au 17 rue des Barres, sont confiés à l'architecte Jacques Gabriel. Les constructions sont achevées en 1739. Vendues comme bien national à la Révolution, les maisons sont ensuite rachetées par la ville de Paris au 19e siècle. Restauration entre 1942 et 1946 par Albert Laprade.

History
In 1732, the churchwardens of the parish of Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais decided on the reconstruction of houses threatening to collapse. Numbers 2 to 12 were entrusted to architect Jacques Vinage. Numbers 14 and the rental building facing back onto 17 rue des Barres, were entrusted to architect Jacques Gabriel. The construction was completed in 1739. Sold as national property during the Revolution, the houses were subsequently repurchased by the City of Paris in the 19th century. Restoration between 1942 and 1946 by Albert Laprade.
