Historique
Le temple, édifice majeur de l'architecture religieuse française du 19ème siècle, fut édifié selon les plans de l'architecte Gaspard André. La façade sur le quai est composée d'un corps central imposant, flanqué de deux ailes concaves, et cantonné de deux pilastres colossaux. Le portail est surmonté d'une frise ornées de fleurs sculptées. Les rampants du pignon sont garnis d'une riche corniche. La façade sur le cours est plus simple. Le plan de la salle de culte est en croix grecque, les bras ouest, nord et sud étant occupés par de grandes tribunes. The temple, a major edifice of French religious architecture of the 19th century, was built according to the plans of architect Gaspard André.
