Historique
La rue du Vin est en réalité l'ancienne rue des Juifs. La communauté juive était importante dès le 18e siècle. Au siècle suivant, elle s'accroît progressivement. Une synagogue antérieure aurait existé à Diemeringen avant la Révolution, détruite après la promesse du comte de Salm-Salm d'en élever une plus spacieuse. Comme la Révolution avait entravé ce projet, la communauté juive s'octroya comme lieu de culte provisoire une simple pièce située dans une maison voisine. L'actuelle synagogue n'a été élevée qu'en 1867 sur les plans de l'architecte savernois Louis Furst, alors qu'une nouvelle école juive était déjà construite. History
Rue du Vin is in reality the former Rue des Juifs. The Jewish community was significant from the 18th century. In the following century, it grew progressively. A synagogue anterior to Diemeringen would have existed before the Revolution, destroyed after the promise of the Count of Salm-Salm to raise a more spacious one. As the Revolution had hindered this project, the Jewish community granted itself as a place of worship a simple room situated in a neighbouring house. The current synagogue was not raised until 1867 on the plans of the Saverne architect Louis Furst, while a new Jewish school had already been built. In 1906, the synagogue burned down, obliging the community to sell the Jewish school in order to be able to dispose of funds for the restoration of the place of worship. The blessing of the restored sanctuary took place on 31 August 1947.
