Historique
Cet hôtel particulier fut édifié, en 1897, pour le compte de Joseph Cote, médecin et important notable de la ville. L'architecte Emile Camut fut chargé de sa réalisation. Il conçut la façade principale sur rue dans un style néo-Louis XV : un avant-corps latéral entièrement appareillé en Volvic et orné de pilastres; de très larges fenêtres, sur deux étages carrés, dotées d'éléments ornementaux soignés (têtes sculptées en agraphe, ferronneries d'appui, menuiseries des fenêtres à tympan chantourné...) ; des oculi éclairant le niveau de soubassement et les combles brisés. L'intérieur conserve des dispositions ainsi que des décors de belle qualité : escalier à la ferronnerie ouvragée et desservant, au rez-de-chaussée, des pièces de réception et, au premier étage, des chambres. Outre des cheminées aux marbres variés, on y relève de curieuses cloisons courbes avec menuiseries adaptées

History
This private mansion was built, in 1897, for the account of Joseph Cote, physician and important notable of the town. The architect Emile Camut was entrusted with its execution. He designed the main facade on the street in a neo-Louis XV style: a lateral avant-corps entirely faced in Volvic and adorned with pilasters; very large windows, on two square storeys, furnished with carefully executed ornamental elements (sculpted heads in agraffe, window ironwork, window joinery with curved tympanum...); oculi lighting the basement level and the broken roof space. The interior preserves arrangements as well as decorations of fine quality: staircase with wrought ironwork and serving, on the ground floor, reception rooms and, on the first floor, bedrooms. Besides fireplaces with various marbles, curious curved partitions with adapted joinery are noted
