The seigneury of Warlus was created at the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. The construction of the first castle, or hunting lodge, dates back to 1688. Later, the building which was to comprise several wings was destroyed by a fire which left only one block of building, nucleus of the present edifice. In the 18th century, the manager of the large agricultural estate resided there. At the Revolution, the estate is sold as national property to a farmer (1795). In the early 19th century, the property belongs to a former contractor who undoubtedly carried out the addition of two lateral wings (in ashlar stone) and the large central avant-corps of the main façade. The construction date can be placed under the Restoration or the beginning of the July Monarchy. In the left lateral wing is found a circular salon with four corner fireplaces, surmounted by mirror-pier glass with decorative motifs of scenes à l'Antique. This salon closes the suite of three rooms of the primitive castle. From the early 20th century date the decorations of the rooms of the former castle overlooking the park. During the First World War, the castle served as headquarters for the French armies. It was also used during the Second World War. The church is situated within the property's enclosure and its door opens onto the village. It comprises a short nave ended by a three-sided apse and preceded by a bell tower dated 1550. The choir was remade in 1777.
