Après les destructions dues à la Seconde guerre mondiale, la reconstruction de l'ensemble des bâtiments communaux fut dévolue à l'architecte Roger Porte puis, en 1950, à Alexandre Colladant. En 1954, l'avant-projet présentant une église radicalement moderne est accepté. Exploitant les possibilités structurelles du béton armé, le projet se distingue par un plan inédit et la mise en relation entre architecture et arts plastiques. Le presbytère et l'église sont mis en chantier en 1959. Le revêtement en carrelage bleu et blanc de la toiture couvrant la nef a disparu. La totalité des pavés de verre du baptistère a été remplacée par de grandes glaces en verre armé.

History
After the destructions caused by the Second World War, the reconstruction of all the municipal buildings was entrusted to architect Roger Porte and then, in 1950, to Alexandre Colladant. In 1954, the preliminary design presenting a radically modern church is accepted. Exploiting the structural possibilities of reinforced concrete, the project is distinguished by an unprecedented plan and the relationship between architecture and plastic arts. The presbytery and church are put into construction in 1959. The coating in blue and white tiles of the roof covering the nave has disappeared. All of the glass paving blocks in the baptistry have been replaced by large sheets of reinforced glass.
